The Hearth
Design sketches for a community center located next to the Lake Claire Land Trust east of downtown Atlanta. Conceived as a series of structures loosely scattered throughout the landscape creating urban community places and spaces. The Hearth will be a sustainable organism, built from found materials, set lightly into the land, and will leverage the light, ground and water already present. The structures are conceived as objects to be discovered over time, crafted and occupied by everyone in the neighborhood.
