Design for a loft conversion in Meridian, Mississippi. The loft is located over a 100 year-old foundry and steam feed works facility. There is a clear demarcation between the new structures and the old building as they are isolated within the perimeter of the existing building. . The spaces are organized in a circular manner evoking the cogs and sprockets manufactured on the site below. Each function – eating, sleeping, bathing, working is located in a section of the 9 square grid layout. Each space then extends and connects to the next one.
