256 Walker St

A second bedroom was needed in a downtown warehouse loft. Built from salvaged materials from the ‘96 Atlanta Olympics, the bedroom was placed in an upper corner of a 80’x40’x60’ volume, below a 20’ long skylight. Patterns began emerging in the shadows created during the day. Further patterns were introduced with a series of wood dowels bent against the wall. Columns are painted as a single geometric surface. Access to the space is with an existing steel ladder.
